Deep Whois extends its comprehensive Whois capabilities to include full support for the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) across all platforms, including iOS, web, and Terminal on macOS, Linux, and FreeBSD.
ENS is a decentralized naming system built on the Ethereum blockchain that maps human-readable domain names like ’deepwhois.eth’ to Ethereum addresses, smart contracts, and other decentralized resources. Deep Whois seamlessly integrates ENS data, allowing users to effortlessly access this information alongside traditional domain data.
With Deep Whois, you can easily retrieve the Ethereum wallet address associated with a ’.ETH’ domain name, as well as additional domain-related data such as registration and expiration dates, location, and descriptions. This information is presented in a user-friendly format, making it simple to understand and use.
In addition to ’.ETH’ domains, Deep Whois also supports querying ENS for on-chain DNS domains (e.g., ’deepwhois.net’). To perform such queries, users can use the ’@ens’ option, which specifies ENS as the source of the domain data.
deep-whois @e deepwhois.net
This option is available in the iOS app for queries and can also be used as a command line argument in the Terminal client.
By supporting ENS, Deep Whois ensures that users have access to the decentralized web's critical data, providing a seamless and integrated experience whether you're querying traditional domains or exploring the world of blockchain-based naming systems.
